Birth: July 2009

A clutch of Ringed Teal chicks have been born.

Arrival: 1 May 2009

A male Bronze-Winged Pigeon has arrived, to join the resident female.

A new exhibit featuring Giant Millipedes, Hissing Cockroaches, Fruit Beetles and Giant Land Snails has been created in the Lowland House.

Arrival: October 2008

Atlas Moths, the world's largest moth species, and Indian Moon Moths are due to arrive around the end of the month. Both giant moth species unusually lack mouth parts and only live for 1-2 weeks.

Arrival: 25 April 2008

Fifty-six Golden Birdwing butterfly pupae have arrived, following interception as illegal imports by HM Customs at Heathrow. It is hoped that once they emerge as butterflies, they will breed; 2 males and 5 females have emerged so far.
