A pair of Ring-Tailed Lemur twins have been born, to mum Madison and dad Rio. Update: the babies are a male and female, and have been named Oscar and Ellie. Tilly the Pygmy Goat has also given birth to a kid. |

Rosie and Sam the Ring-Tailed Lemurs have given birth to triplets - the first at the park and a rare occurrence for the species. Singles are the norm in the wild while twins are fairly common in captivity - Rosie herself has produced twins for the last 2 years.. |

Three Fennec Fox cubs have been born, the first for parents Mali and Tabari, and the zoo. Great news for the species and the European breeding programme. |

Gay the female Asian Elephant has sadly had to be put to sleep. She had been suffering from abscesses on her feet and arthritis. Despite extensive treatments her welfare and quality of life was deteriorating, so this had become the only option. |

A male Cheetah called Ares has arrived on brreding loan from Hamerton Park. He will join the resident female Uria for about a month, in the hope that they will mate successfully. |

A pair of Snow Leopards called Irma (female) and Suou (male) have arrived, from Norden's ark, Sweden and Tama Zoo, Tokyo, respectively. They will initially be held in quarantine before taking up residence in their enclosure adjacent to the new Himalaya visitor centre. It is hoped they will become a new breeding pair and contribute to the International Breeding Programme for this endangered species. |

A 2-year-old Giant Otter called Xingu has arrived, and taken up residence in a new enclosure deigned to resemble a Brazilian riverbank. It is hoped he will soon be joined by a companion. |

Squidge the female Tapir has sadly had to be put to sleep after she developed a severe infection in her jawbone; she began losing her teeth and could not eat. |
