A baby female Sumatran Orang-Utan called Indah has been born to experienced, 20-year-old, parents Emma and Puluh. This brings the number of Sumatran Orang-Utans at the zoo to seven, and the zoo also has four Bornean Orang-Utans.

A male Asiatic Lion called Kamal has arrived from Twycross Zoo, to replace the zoo's existing male Lion, Chandra, who has moved to Cotswold Wildlife Park (to replace their male who died in November). These moves have been coordinated by the European breeding programme for this species, which is critically endangered with only about 350 left in the wild.

Two rare Sumatran Tiger cubs, called Kabus (male) and Kelabu (female), have been born to parents Ratna and Batu, and are their second set in two years. The smallest of the Tiger species, the Sumatran Tiger is highly endangered due to poaching and habitat loss, with less than 500 left in the wild on their native Indonesian island of Sumatra.

A Sheepmaker's Crowned Pigeon chick has hatched, the fourth for the parents since their arrival at the Park in 2004. The species is the largest of the Pigeon family, and only lays one egg at a time.
