Arrival: Woburn Safari Park

Kasanga, a 2-year-old male Lion, has arrived, to lead the resident pride. He is gradually being introduced to the lionesses and life at the park. |

A baby female Brazilian Tapir called Talia has been born, to parents Jennifer and Cuzco. |

A pair of Red Fronted Lemurs have arrived from Edinburgh Zoo, to take up residence in a new walk-through Lemur enclosure. |

Two male European Lynx kittens called Rhubarb and Custard have been born, the first for parents Maja and Timo. They were actually born a few weeks ago, but are only now venturing from their den. |

A male Asian Elephant calf called Scott has been born, the third for experienced mum Azizah. Despite the longest pregnancy on record at the zoo, the calf is the smallest to have been born there; so much so that keepers were concerned that he might not be able to reach his mother's milk, but he soon learned to stand on tip-toe and has had no problem feeding. |

Two young male Aardvarks called Scorch and Tatsu have arrived. The brothers will soon go on-show in a new enclosure alongside the Meerkats. |

Two of four Cheetah cubs born in June, both female, have sadly died. Mum KT and all four cubs recently contracted cowpox - probably from coming into contact with an infected rodent - and were undergoing treatment. The two female cubs, Kinza and Shendi unfortunately succumbed to the disease. Mum and the tow male cubs, Rufaa and Juba, are, however still responding well to treatment. The family is being kept in quarantine off-show to prevent the disease spreading to the other adults. |

A male Sclater's Lemur (also known as Blue-Eyed Black Lemur, although only the males are black) called Duke has arrived, to join resident female Noemie as a replacement for Bobby, who has moved to Banham Zoo, all part of an exchange programme to encourage mating for this Critically Endangered species. |

A sibling group of four young Darwin's Rheas, two brothers and two sisters, have arrived from Mulhouse Zoo, France. |

Seventeen baby Utila Spiny-Tailed Iguanas have hatched, the first at the Zoo for this Critically Endangered species, once considered one of the rarest of Iguana species. The parents arrived last year as a new breeding pair for the European breeding programme. |
