The new Gorilla Kingdom exhibit is now open. Visitors will be able to walk along a leafy path and through an aviary of African birds before coming to a `forest clearing' where they should get a great view of the colony of Western Lowland Gorillas. Black and White Colobus monkeys will also be in the trees above the Gorillas, and other African primates and reptiles will be on show in adjacent enclosures. |

Twin Amur Leopard cubs are now on show to visitors, the first that have been bred at the zoo. Unfortunately they were orphaned at just 8 weeks old when their mother, Izzy, died of an infection. |

A pair of young (just under 2 years) White Lions, Nala and Thabo, can now been seen by visitors. They actually arrived at the park 6 months ago from South Africa, but have since been undergoing quarantine. |

Three Vicunas have arrived to join the paddock section of the zoo and are part of an international breeding programme. Vicunas are the smallest of the Camelid family, which includes Camels, Llamas, etc. They come from the Central Andes in South America, and are classed as an endangered species, having been nearly hunted to extinction in the 1970's, for their valuable fleece. |

Baby male Giraffe has been born, the second at the zoo this year, to mother Biffa and father Christopher. This brings Marwell's herd to 14, making it the largest in the UK. He has now been named Mutota. |

A baby male Bactrian Camel, called Genghis, has been born, the second for mother Edina. |

A female Black Rhino calf has been born, the first for the zoo. She has now been named Zuri. |
