Arrival: West Midland Safari & Leisure Park

A pack of 5 Dholes, 2 females and 3 males, have arrived. Dholes look something like a long-legged Corgi and originate from southern Asia, where they are endangered, with only about 2500 left in the wild. |

A baby Black and Gold Howler Monkey has been born, to parents Lottie (her 7th) and Raphael. |

A group of four male Ring Tailed Lemurs has arrived from West Midlands Safari Park. They were all born at Cricket St Thomas Wildlife Park to the same father and two different mothers. |

A male Red Panda called Ruben has arrived from Paignton Zoo. To join the resident female as part of the European breeding programme. |

Four baby Egyptian Tortoises have hatched. The eggs were moved to an incubator after being laid by two of the adult females, so that they could be incubated in controlled conditions. The babies will be kept separate from the adults for a few years, until old enough to join the main enclosure; visitors can see them in Encounter Village. |

A baby female Bactrian Camel called Myrtle has been born, to mum Bhali. After a difficult birth she was unable to stand to reach her mother's milk, and possibly for this reason was rejected by her mother. She is therefore being hand-reared by keepers. Two other Camels have been born this year, the most recent of which, a male called Malcolm who was born a month earlier, has taken on the role of protective older brother and the pair are pretty much inseparable. |

Recent and previously unannounced births include 4 Humboldt Penguin chicks (possibly more to come), 3 African Pygmy Goat kids, 2 Black-Eared Marmosets, Rheas, Demoiselle Cranes, Capybaras, Mara and Chilean Lapwing. |

Three Roul Roul Partridge chicks have hatched, the first at the zoo since the parents arrived 6 years ago. |

A male European Brown Bear cub called Loki has been born, to mum Nellie. He is the first bear cub to be born at the Park and was actually born back in January, but has only now emerged from the hibernation den. A sister cub was also born, but sadly died after a few days. |

A pack of 5 Iberian Wolves, a male called Diago and 4 females, have arrived from Woburn Safari Park. |
Arrival: Colchester Zoo

A pair of Francois Langurs have arrived, to hopefully form a new breeding pair for this Endangered primate species. The male came from Twycross Zoo, while the female has come from Howletts. |
