A very rare Aloatran Gentle Lemur has been born. This species is critically endangered and one of the rarest on the planet. |

Two Somali Wild Ass foals have been born. The female, Jamila, was born on 5 June, and the male, Malik, was born on 15 June. Marwell Zoo has now bred 10 of these critically endangered animals - possibly the rarest species at the zoo. |

Two new fur seal pups, Tia and Bonita, were born to separate mothers on 4 June and 21 May, respectively. Bonita was born prematurely, and has had to be hand-reared. |

A pack of 12 African Hunting Dogs have arrived from Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, Kent, and are settling well into their new enclosure near the Lions and Tigers. |

Two Black Lemurs, an adult female and her 6 week old baby, have arrived from Dudley Zoo. She is part of the European Breeding Programme for this endangered species, and will be paired with a suitable male fro breeding in due course. |
