A baby male Brazilian Tapir has been born, to first-time mum Corumba and dad Yavari. |

Queensland Birdwing Butterflies have arrived, and are currently emerging from their chrysalis. With a wingspan of 22cm it is one of the world's largest butterfly species. |

A baby Sulawesi Black Crested Macaque has been born, to parents Kendari and Moteck. |

Three Sumatran Tiger cubs have been born, to mum Kirana and dad Fabi. Good news for this highly endangered species, with only around 400 left in the wild. It will be some time before visitors will be able to see the cubs, as mum is keeping them inside the den. Update, 22 December: the cubs are all female. |

Indera, a male Malayan Sun Bear, has arrived from the Rare Species Conservation Centre in Kent. He was born in Singapore Zoo in 2010 and joins the resident female Bora. |

A female Southern White Rhino called Emmi has arrived from Allwetterzoo Munster, in exchange for Jane. It is hoped that the change of environment will help both Rhinos to breed successfully. |

A male Tapir calf has been born, to parents Tanya (her 12th) and Shannon. |

A pair of very rare Babirusa Piglets have been born, to mum Majene and dad Sausu. The wild population is in serious decline in its native Indonesia and Babirusa are said to be the rarest pig species in the world. The new arrivals are therefore great news. |
