A baby female Drill (a type of Baboon) has been born, to parents Bibundi and Gorbi. This is Bibundi's third baby in as many years and is great news for this endangered species, which is threatened by habitat loss in the wild.

Two Amur (Siberian) Tiger cubs have been born, to mother Malyshka. The sexes of the cubs are not yet known , as Malyshka is being very protective of her cubs. However, CCTV cameras have been installed, allowing the keepers to monitor the cubs' progress with disturbing them. A feed to a TV screen in one of the public viewing shelters has also been provided, to allow visitors to see the cubs too. The births are great news for this critically endangered species, with only about 450-500 left in the wild.

One of the Striated Caracara chicks that was born earlier this year has moved to Calderglen Country Park, South Lanarkshire, to establish a new breeding pair. The other is undergoing training for the flying demonstrations.

Kirana, the female Sumatran Tiger born at Paignton in May 2006, has moved to Chester Zoo to start a new breeding group for this highly endangered species. A new male will join her there, as Chester's existing male is too closely related.

Five Socorro Doves have moved to Albuquerque Zoo, New Mexico, to join seven from Paignton Zoo and form a satellite breeding group outside of Europe. Their offspring could be the first to be seen on their ancestral home of Socorro Island off the coast of Mexico, where the species became extinct in the 1970's due to habitat loss and disturbance from humans.

A baby female Squirrel Monkey called Lulu has been born. She was unfortunately found very weak on her enclosure floor and is being hand-reared by keepers until she can be returned to the group.

A baby Black and White Colobus Monkey has been born, to parents Apollo and Etosha. Great news for this endangered species which is threatened by hunting for meat and fur.
