Seven female Humboldt Penguins have arrived from Halle in Germany, as part of the EEP European Breeding Programme. Two are to join existing unattached males while the other five are to be joined by new males from Sweden that should arrive in a couple of months. |

Two more Barbary Lion cubs, called Boris and Charlie, have been born, to mum Fidda and dad Qays. Unlike their sister, Lily, who was rejected by Fidda soon after birth earlier this year, the two cubs are being well looked after by their mum. Their births, coming so soon after the birth of their sister, are extremely good news for the species, which is extinct in the wild. |

Rambo, an 11-year old Siberial/Indian Tiger, has arrived from Florida, USA, following closure of the South Florida Rehabilitation Centre. Update: Rambo has now been renamed Rajiv. |

A female Giant Long Legged Katydid, the world's largest species of hopper, has arrived. This species is extremely rare, and can reach up to 35cm in length (including antennae). |

Twin baby Golden Headed Lion Tamarins have been born to experienced parents Nala and Samuel, just 130 days after Nala gave birth to her previous baby - the gestation period for this highly endangered species is 125-128 days! |
