Description

The Waddesdon Manor Aviary is located in the grounds of Waddesdon Manor, in the village of Waddesdon in Buckinghamshire, on the A41 between Aylesbury and Bicester. The house is a large Renaissance-style chateau, set among magnificent gardens with flamboyant bedding, winding walks, colourful trees and panoramic views, and is the main attraction. The house is also home to a large collection of 18th century French decorative arts, including paintings, furniture, carpets and curiosities. This collection is one of the best in the world.

The aviary itself is housed in an unusual cast-iron rococo trelliswork pavillion. The bird collection includes a variety of smaller birds from around the world, particularly South East Asia, such as exotic Starlings and Thrushes. The Manor grounds themselves are also home to a wide variety of native wild birds.
