Description

Set in the heart of Broxbourne Woods, Paradise Wildlife Park is home to a wide variety of animals and has many attractions to keep even the liveliest of children happy for the day! It has an outstanding collection of big cats, including Cheetahs, African Lions, Jaguars, Tigers, and Snow Leopards, plus several species of smaller cats such as Ocelots, and Geoffroy's and Pallas Cats. The Wonders of the Rainforest exhibition houses several species of endangered Tamarins, together with the Two-toed Sloth and the strange Lesser Hairy Armadillo. A selection of snakes, turtles and a Chinese Alligator can be found in the Angkor Reptile Temple. The Woodland Walk features native British species such as Foxes, Owls, and Red Deer, with more to be introduced during 2007. Other animals at the park include Ring-tailed Lemurs, Meerkats, Red Pandas, Bactrian Camels, Aplaca, Reindeer, Zebras, Wallabies, Wolves, Brazilian Tapirs, Mara, Capybara, and Hog Deer. Some of these can also be fed by visitors.

How To Get There:

By Car

From Central London:

Follow the A10 north through Tottenham, Southgate, and Enfield, crossing the M25 at junction 25. Continue on the A10 north towards Hertford, and through Cheshunt to Turnford junction. Leave the A10 dual carriageway here and turn right at the roundabout onto the A1170 towards Broxbourne and Wormley. Turn left at next roundabout, and continue on A1170 into Wormley. After about 1/2 mile, turn left into Church Lane (unclassified road). Continue on Church Lane for about a further 1 1/2 miles, until it ends at a T-junction. Turn left onto White Stubbs Lane and Paradise Park will then be on your right after about another 2/3 mile.

From M25:

Leave the M25 at junction 25, and turn north onto the A10, towards Hertford. Continue to the park as described above (from Central London).

From Cambridge:

Follow the A10 south through Royston and past Ware and Hertford. Continue past Hoddesdon and Broxbourne to southern junction with A1170 (Cheshunt and Wormley). Turn left and left again onto A1170 towards and into Wormley. Turn left into Church Lane and continue to the Park as described above (from Central London).

From Peterborough:

Follow the A1(M), and A1, south to junction 7 (Stevenage south). Turn left onto A602 and follow it south east to the A10 near Ware. Turn right onto the A10 south, and continue as described above (from Cambridge).

By Public Transport

By train:

Paradise Wildlife Park is 31/2 miles (5 km) from Broxbourne mainline station, which is on the ONE network. This is the mainline between London Liverpool Street and Cambridge. There is also good connectivity from central London via the Victoria line (underground) via Tottenham Hale. The Park operates a courtesy mini bus service from and to Broxbourne Station for people travelling by rail. When you arrive at Broxbourne ask the ticket office to phone the PWP hot line and the Park will despatch the mini bus to pick you up.
