Harewood House is a magnificent 18th century country house, set in grounds and gardens landscaped by `Capability' Brown, and home to many treasures. There is an adventure playground to entertain the children, and a café serving a selection of home made snacks and meals is located in the recently restored Courtyard and next to the entrance to the Bird Garden.

The Bird Garden on the shores of the serpentine lake below the House is home to one of the country's finest collections of rare and exotic birds, with over 100 species including penguins, flamingos, owls, pheasants, parrots and a variety of waterfowl.
