Description

Butterfly World was opened in 1983 in the grounds of the Medina Garden Centre, and was then only the fifth butterfly house in the world. It was joined in 1989 by Fountain World with its Italian and Japanese themed gardens, many water features, and Koi Carp ponds. Together, they are now one of the Island's leading tourist attractions, and all under cover.

The butterfly house features hundreds of butterflies flying freely among exotic plants arranged to provide an attractive natural environment. There are usually around 25 species from around the world to be seen at any one time. Free flying exotic finches and Chinese Painted Quail add to the experience.
